A Hopi Sikyatki style pot by Vernida Polacca Nampeyo. The pot has a wide body tapering into a narrower neck and is decorated with black, red ochre, and tan intricate, fine-line designs. Signed on the underside, including the triple short horizontal lines used as the Nampeyo family hallmark to denote generational continuity.
Vernida Polacca Nampeyo (b. 1955) is a renowned artist from the Hopi-Tewa Kachina clan. She is a great-granddaughter of the Nampeyo and granddaughter of Fannie Polacca Nampeyo. She honors her family tradition by practicing Sikyatki revival pottery, incorporating designs made famous by Nampeyo of Hano and have since become symbols of the family's artistic heritage.
