Ron Suazo (b. 1954, Santa Clara Pueblo) Sgraffito Seed Pot

A Santa Clara Pueblo sgraffito seed pot by Ron Suazo. The pot has a round body with a long neck and small mouth, and incised with a mandala-like sunburst pattern featuring stone inlay and orange "sun bursts." The term "sgraffito" refers to scratching through a surface to reveal a different texture underneath. Signed on the underside.

Ron Suazo (b. 1954) is a Tewa potter from the Santa Clara Pueblo community known for producing sgraffito-decorated micaceous and blackware pottery. His work preserves ancestral techniques while infusing personal and spiritual visions, bridging the gap between traditional and contemporary.
