German Bavarian 21st Infantry Regiment Stein, Pre-WWI Original

Particularly handsome German Infantry Regiment stein to Infantryman Radeck of the 7th Company 21st Bavarian Infantry Regiment "Grand Duke Frederick of Mecklenberg - Schwerin." He served 1908 - 1910. The decoration is very attractive and interesting, with a portrait of the Colonel, (presumably Duke Frederick of Mecklenberg - Schwerin) under a painting of Sulzbach with Zeppelin III overhead. This is flanked by the usual pictures of the Regiment at rest and in action, with hand painted additions, especially to the gold. The handle is smooth inside, and is topped by a pewter finial with a floral pattern. The pewter lid is domed and decorated, but does not have a figure on it. There is a lithopane inside of a soldier with his wife. The bottom is unmarked. This is a more modest stein than usually seen, but quite appealing. Size: 10 1/4 inches tall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $40.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.

Provenance:PKO

Condition:

Excellent and original. The outside of the pewter lid has some patina, while the inside is shiny.
