German Bavarian 1st Royal Artillery Regiment Stein, Original

German Bavarian 1st Royal Artillery Regiment Stein (1. KGR. BAYR.ART. RGT.), to Hans Scheuer, who served from 1908 - 1910. This is a very fine stein with a lot of hand painted details, with a portrait of Price Regent Leopold at the center, surrounded by Bavarian flags and shields, the regimental shoulder tab, a picture of two soldiers shaking hands, and interesting scenes of the regiment on garrison duty, at rest, and in action, with both field guns and a large siege mortar, as well as digging a gun emplacement. There is also a smaller picture of a zeppelin over Bayreuth, as well as one of a soldier and a weeping woman. The handle is smooth on the inside, with a fine Bavarian crowned lion holding a Bavarian shield on top, connected to s pewter lid with a field gun on top. This stein is probably Mettlach, so there is no lithopane. The bottom has the number 992 stamped into it before firing, along with a mark looking like a rectangle with a tree on top. Size: 11 1/2 inches tall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $40.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.

Superb condition original, with painted details on the transfers. The lid is slightly oxidized on the outside, and shiny on the inside.
