German Bavarian 21st Infantry Regiment Stein w/ Much Hand-Painted Decoration

Outstanding German Bavarian military stein to the 21st Royal Bavarian Infantry Regiment, 6th Company Sulzbach, Infantryman Karl Leupold, who served from 1905 to 1907. The stein is beautifully decorated, with far more hand - painted detail than usually seen. The central image is an infantryman with a decorative canteen over his shoulder, and his hand raised, standing alongside of a female figure of Germania holding a Victory wreath, with her hand resting on a Bavarian Lion. At Germania's feet are a 21st Regiment shoulder tab, and the soldier's pack and they are flanked by an infantryman firing his rifle Flanking those pictures are pictures of the Regiment in action, below a picture of the City of Sulzbach. At the base is an inscription commemorating the 100 Year Anniversary of the Kingdom of Bavaria. The handle has a smooth inside, and the pewter hinge is topped with an ornamented finial. The lid is topped with a fine German eagle. There is a letter "B" painted on the bottom. There is a lithopane with a German soldier being greeted by a woman in an apron. Size: 10 1/2 inches tall. Condition is excellent. The pewter lid is slightly oxidized on the outside, and bright on the inside.
