German Bavarian 10th Company Lifeguard Infantry Regiment Munich

Truly superb German Bavarian 10th Company Lifeguard Infantry Regiment stein, to Gefreither Antoine Ronath, with service from 1906 - 1908. This is an elite Guard Regiment of the Bavarian Military, and the stein's decoration reflects the owners pride in his regiment. The center features a photo of an officer, probably the Colonel of the Regiment, framed with bright gold paint. Surrounding the photo is a Bavarian shield, a shield with the crowned Bavarian lion, stacks of arms and musical instruments, and above are a soldier shaking hands with an officer with sword. Above that is a picture of the Regiment on parade in Munich. To the sides are scenes of the Regiment on guard duty in the snow, a soldier departing his family, the Regiment charging an enemy, and the Regiment leaving on a train. The handle has a smooth inside, and is topped with a fine Bavarian lion and shield in pewter. This connects to a deluxe pewter lid with a soldier on top with his hand resting on the head of a sitting lion. The rest of the lid is decorated with trophies of arms, and a lengthy sentiment. The lid is slightly oxidized on the outside, and is bright on the inside. There is a painted sentiment around the top of the body of the stein tht refers to the Lifeguard status of the Regiment. Inside is a lithopane of a uniformed man, probably the Prince Regent of Bavaria. There is a signature on the bottom, undoubtedly the artist who added the details, fired into the bottom of the stein. Size: 12 inches tall.
