Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver

A very nice and desirable Model 1849 Colt Pocket revolver serial number 248800, manufactured in 1863! The gun has the longer and less common 5 inch barrel with the New York address, and has a very clear stagecoach scene on the cylinder. The numbers are all matching and the grips retain much of their original varnish. Size: 10 1/2 inches long overall with a 5 inch barrel. Condition:

Very good plus condition, with the gun retaining extensive traces of the original blue, and a little silver plate remaining on the trigger guard. The loading lever retains most of its blue and some case hardening. The gun has well-defined edges, and exceptionally clear markings. The bore is very nice, with excellent rifling. There is a small chip missing from the toe of the right hand grip.
