Civil War CDV of Union General McClellan & Wife w/ Revenue Stamp

Carte de Visite photo of Union General George McClellan and his beautiful wife. The General is seated on a chair reading papers. His wife stand behind him, wearing mourning with one arm across her waist. They are under a flowering vine by the corner of of a building. There is no back mark, but there is a US Revenue stamp. George McClellan was the Union Commander of the Army of the Potomac in the early part of the Civil War. His indecision nearly cost the Union their victory at the Battle of Antietam, and he ran for president against Lincoln in 1864. He became governor of New Jersey after the War. Size: 4 inches by 2 1/4 inches. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.

Excellent plus, other than a very small missing piece of corner on the front.
