US Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Model 1873, Shortened

A shortened Model 1873 Trapdoor Springfield Rifle in .45-70 caliber serial number 196328, manufactured in 1879. The rifle seems to have been assembled of different parts, and has been well shortened, with the forend within an inch of the shorter barrel. The slot for the cleaning rod is present, but there is no cleaning rod. The gun has been refinished, removing most of the original markings. The gun has 1884 style rifle sights. Size: 40 1/2 inches long overall, with a 21 inch barrel. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $65.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.

Condition:

The gun has been re-blued over pitting. Most of the numbers and markings have been obliterated. The action is very good, and the bore is very good, with no rifling visible.
