US Model 1892 Regulation Bugle by B&Y, New York

This is a well-made US Model 1892 bugle in the key of F, made by B&Y in New York. It has a floating rim to the bell, and has yellow US Cavalry cords that appear to be original. The bugle is still playable with a nice clear tone. It probably dates to the Spanish-American War era. The bugle is hand engraved on the bell, “U.S. Regulation B. & Y. – New York.” B& Y Company may have been the predecessor to the famous brass instrument maker Bach Company of New York. The bugle is complete with what appears to be its original mouthpiece. Size: 16 ½ inches long overall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $40.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition:

The bugle is somewhat battered, but still playable. It has a number of small dents, and is in need of a polish. The yellow cords are slightly worn, but in very good condition, and their color is still bright. Witherell's strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
