US 1872 Artillery Enlisted Saber

A non-regulation Model 1872 enlisted artillery saber of the style of the 1840 regulations, but thinner and lighter. It is un-engraved.The sword has an etched panel with "Baker McKenny, New York" on the ricasso. The scabbard has been painted black during its period of use. Size: 40 1/2 inches long overall with a 33 inch blade. (Box8x4x52) Processing and shipping in the Continental United States is $65.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition:

Generally very good plus and better. The grip is very nice, retaining all of the leather and wire, but there is a crack at the base. The blade has scattered patched of very minor rust, but is bright and clean. The scabbard is excellent, but the pint is flaking in some area.
