Two portraits of men in Union Cases

Portrait tintype of an older man wearing an unusual bib-front shirt over a dress shirt and tie, and under a double-breasted coat. The shirt appears to be horizontally striped, nd may have small brass buttons. The image is grey overall, so details are difficult to make out, The image is 2 ½ by 3 inches, in a nice gold colored matte, in a fine Union case with a maroon velvet pad. The case is brown, with a flattened oval with diamond shaped details, surrounded by floral swags on front and back. Outstanding milk glass ambrotype portrait of a well-dressed man with a Van Dyke beard and moustache, a gold painted ring on his little finger, and a silk ribbon running across his shirt, probably for pince nez spectacles. The image is outstandingly clear and sharp. It measures 2 ½ by 3 inches, and is in a gold colored matte, in a fine Union case in brown with a cross-like formation of cornucopias. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition:

The first image is faded to an overall grey tone. The matte and case are excellent. The second image is excellent, with minor bubbling on the emulsion.
