Two Original German Bavarian Military Steins, Both Damaged

Two interesting and original pre-WWI German steins, both damaged. One is a Bavarian Chevauleger Regiment. The body of the stein is excellent, but the decorative finial on top of the lid is broken off. It has a lithopane of the King of Bavaria, a portrait of the Colonel of the Regiment, a fine mounted trooper, and four scenes of the Regiment at rest and in action. The stein belonged to Reservist Karl Theodor Dieuze who served from 1909 - 1912. He was in the 5th Squadron of the Regiment. The stein has both transfers and some painted details, and were it not for the missing finial, would be excellent plus. It is marked 1/2 L by the handle, which is smooth on the inside, and has a rampant Bavarian lion with shield on top of the handle.. Size: 11 1/4 inches tall. Damaged Bavarian Infantry Regiment stein to Max Huber of the 21st Infantry Regiment Salzbach, Company G, for his service from 1906 -1908. The lid is excellent, with a soldier with rifle standing next to a Bavarian lion. The stein has been broken and repaired, and is missing a section of the lithopane bottom that depicts a soldier and his sweetheart. The decoration is complete, though, with a mixture of transfer and painted details, including a portrait of their Colonel, a fine soldier in marching order, and the usual scenes of the Regiment at rest and in combat. Size" 12 inches tall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $40.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.
