Two Case XX Bowie Knives & Sheaths 1836 Models

Two fine Case XX bowie knives, both the 1836 model with brass blade catchers on the backs of the blades, two narrow fullers, and a portrait of a frontiersman, possibly Davy Crockett on the blade. They are both in basket weave black leather sheaths, with brass guards. One has a grip that has faded or was made in gray, while the other has the standard black plastic grip. Both have brass guards and brass rivets in the grips. Both blades are stamped "CASE XX USA 1836." Size: Both knives are 14 1/4 inches long overall, with 9 1/2 inch blades. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.

Condition:

The first knife has a gray grip, possibly faded due to exposure to a chemical, or possibly made that way. Its brass guard has also faded to a bronze color. The second knife is the standard design with bright brass, and a black plastic grip. Both blades are about excellent.
