Large Bowie Knife & Sheath, Hand Made Vietnam Era

Large, hand-made bowie knife, possibly a Vietnam era Theater Knife. The knife has a large, well-shaped bowie blade with long clipped point. The guard is shallow "S" shaped in steel with holes drilled along through in a decorative pattern. The pommel is pronounced with a slight pistol grip extension for a more secure grip. The grip is varnished wood with a carved diamond shaped inset on each side. It was painted with metallic green and metallic red paint, some of which has flaked off. The sheath is also hand-made, black leather with rawhide lacing. Size: 16 3/8 inches long overall, with an 11 inch blade. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.

Condition:

Very good plus. The blade is somewhat roughly finished, but is very good plus as it was made. The overall manufacture is slightly primitive, but a nicely made, well-balanced large fighting bowie.
