Two (2) Daguerreotypes of Couples
Two sixth plate daguerreotypes of seated couples, both in leather cases. One couple is of a balding man with mutton-chop sideburns wearing plaid trousers and a satin vest with a high collar. He has his hand on the woman’s shoulder. His wife may be in mourning, and is holding a daguerreotype case, showing her wedding ring. The second image is of a young couple, the man bearded, wearing a long watch chain, the woman in a plaid blouse with earrings. The image is horizontal in the case.
Dimensions: Both images are sixth plate, 3 5/8 tall by 3 1/8 inches wide.
Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.
Condition:Both images are excellent, very sharp and clear. The leather cases are worn, with split leather hinges. Please see photos.
