Three (3) No. 6 Sheffield Folding Bowie Knives

Three no. 6 Sheffield folding bowie knives, including: A large Sheffield made No. 6 folding bowie knife, probably by Joseph Rodgers & Sons, with two Maltese crosses stamped on the ricasso, as well as No. 6 Sheffield Steel, Hunting Knife, and a large No, 6 on the bolster. The knife has a push release on the grip, a mushroom shaped pommel, ebony grips, and is in a modern leather belt sheath. This knife dates from around 1870 (12-inches long overall with a 7-inch blade). A very similar large No. 6 folding bowie knife, with No. 6 Sheffield Steel stamped on the ricasso, opposite two Maltese crosses, with Sheffield Steel stamped on the back of the blade, and a large No. 6 on the bolster. This also has ebony grips, and brass mounts with silver plating that is rubbed on the pommel. The blade release is also on the side of the grip. The knife is in a modern leather belt sheath, but also dates from about 1870, and may be by Joseph Rodgers & Sons (12.5-inches long overall with a 7.25-inch blade). Another No. 6 folding bowie knife, also probably by Joseph Rodgers & Sons, Sheffield, with two Maltese crosses on the ricasso opposite No. 6 Sheffield Steel. The blade along the back is stamped Sheffield Steel. The knife has ebony grips, and German silver mounts, the bolster stamped No. 6 in large figures. The knife is in an older brown leather sheath (11.5-inches long overall with a 7-inch blade). Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Condition:

Very good. The first Sheffield made knife has traces of verdigris on the white metal mount. The similar large no. 6 has some minor black pitting along the back of the blade, and has been sharpened. Please see photos.
