Silhouette Portrait of James Boswell, Johnson's biographer

An incredibly detailed silhouette portrait of James Boswell, Scottish born biographer of Dr. Samuel Johnson. The silhouette has an extremely detailed surround of great intricacy. The portrait itself has elements of caricature, including very pronounced lips. The hair is also very detailed, as his his lace jabot. It is in a deep wooden frame with "Boswell" written on the backing, and a piece of paper taped to the back with brief identifications of Boswell and Johnson. Size: 7 1/4 by 6 1/4 by 1 1/4 inches. Provenance: Estate of General Joseph McNarney. Processing and shipping in the Continental United States is $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
