Percussion Box-lock Single Shot Pistol

A small single shot percussion box-lock pistol, resembling a screw barrel muff pistol, but made for mass production in the years before the Civil War. These were commonly purchased by or for the first wave of soldiers heading off to the Civil War, and were mostly imported from Belgium. It is a center hammer box-lock and has a round barrel and a sack butt. The barrel has a proof on it, and the number 25. Size: 7 inches long overall with a 2 1/2 inch barrel. It is .44 caliber. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S $35 plus a 1.5% replacement cost insurance fee. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.

Condition:

Dark overall, but in very good functioning condition. There are some minor dents in the wood of the butt. The percussion nipple is slightly mashed.
