Pair of Large Bronze Statuettes "Distress" and "Rescue"

Extremely handsome and impressive pair of bronze statuettes: "Distress," which shows a woman with a boathook and net in one hand, waving a kerchief with the other. She is standing on a rock, wearing sabots. It is on an ebony stand with a small brass plaque reading "Distress." Wither her is "Rescue." He is the same size, and is a sailor in sou'wester hat and short jacket with bare feet, holding a coil of rope and a life preserver. On his ebony base is a brass plaque with the word, "Rescue." Size: Distress is 24 inches tall and 11 1/2 inches wide. Rescue is 22 inches tall and 15 inches wide.
