Bronze & Cloisonne Statue of a Turtle with a Dragon's Head

Very handsome and large bronze turtle with what appears to be a maned lion's head, a cloisonne shell, and a howdah on top of the shell with bronze rings on all four sides. It represents a dragon from Chinese mythology, Bi Xi, one of the Nine Sons of the Dragon King. The piece sits on a custom made ebony base. The turtle's shell and the howdah are covered in cloisonne, with a Greek key design running around the turtle's shell, and hexagons with flowers in their centers over the rest of the shell. The howdah has a toothed design at the base, and twining branches with flowers over the rest of the howdah. 15 inches tall on its stand. 17 inches long and 9 inches wide.
