Outstanding Civil War Tintype Quarter Plate Artilleryman

An outstanding tintype image of a full-standing US Civil War Artilleryman, or possibly a Cavalryman, wearing a shell jacket, holstered pistol on his belt with a rectangular 1851 belt plate, His trousers re faintly tinted blue, and his belt plate and buttons are painted gold. There is faint tint of red to his cuff piping, and he is holding a hat in one hand that has also had paint applied. He is standing on a carpet next to a chair. His high collar is folded down. The image is in an oval cut-out matte, in a half leatherette case. Full-length images are relatively scarce. Size: 4 3/4 by 3 5/8 inches in the case. Processing and shipping in the Continental United States is $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance..

Condition:

Very good condition. There are a few small cracks to the emulsion on the lower field of the image, but it is very clear and sharp. The case is only half of a leather bound case, and is slightly scuffed.
