Miniature Portrait of Edmund William Boyle, 8th Viscount Dungarvan

A very rare, possibly unique portrait of the Honourable Edmund William Boyle, the 8th Viscount Dungarvan, eldest son of the 8th Earl of Cork. He served in the British Army during the Napoleonic Wars, and died at age 28 in 1826. He is shown in uniform with yellow facings. The portrait is in mixed media, watercolor and colored pencil. It is in a copper matte in a black rectangular frame with a silver edge to the opening. "Dungarvan Dec. 1817" is written on the reverse. Size: 6 by 5 inches. Provenance: Estate of General Joseph McNarney. Processing and shipping in the Continental United States is $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition:

Very good plus condition. The copper matte is tarnished, as is the silver trim. The black paint on the frame is crackled.
