Imperial German Prussian Model 1889 Cavalry Sword
Imperial German Cavalry Saber Sword, Model of 1889 standard enlisted sword, with Prussian eagle in guard, gutta percha grip, and pipe backed blade. No scabbard. The sword is particularly well-marked, with a crown over Erfurt stamp on the ricasso on one side, and Otto Mertens Solingen on the other side. Size: 39 inches long overall, with a 32 1/2 inch blade.
Size: 16 by 15 by 10 inches. Weight: 33 pounds.

Condition:
The sword has a dark patina, with rust at the point, and on the hilt in particular. The point is slightly bent. There is no scabbard.
