General Anthony McAuliffe 5 Enameled Pins

General Anthony McAuliffe’s enameled pin back distinctive insignia of the 1st US Army, the “Big Red One,” in which McAuliffe served before WWII. The First Army d.i. is marked Myers, New York, and is an early oval example. The second pin is a small shield shaped gold colored clutch back pin of the American National Defense Association. In addition are three small enameled pins belonging to General Anthony McAuliffe, one being a Knights Templar New Jersey Commandery 2 part pin with a pendant cross enameled black with god crown and cross and “In Hoc Signo Vinces,” made by Robbins, Attleboro with Philadelphia PA. Pat. Sept. 1913 on the back. The second is also Masonic, a triangle enameled with cross and crown, and “Columbia Commandery, Knights Templar, Washington D.C.” on its edges. It was made by Robbins, Attleboro as well. The third pin may be from McAuliffe’s High School. It is an enameled shield with “FHS” on a ribbon across the shield. It is marked sterling.
