Daguerreotype of an older woman with spectacles, wearing a white lace bonnet, apparently in A very fine daguerreotype portrait of a young girl, possibly in mourning, wearing mourning. The image is in a leatherette case. pearl choker. Her cheeks are tinted. The image is in a half leatherette case. Condition: Size: First image is 3 1/8 by 3 5/8 inches. Second image is 2 ¾ by 3 ¼ inches. Third image is 3 1/8 by 3 ¾ inches. Fourth image is 3 1/8 inches by 3 ½ inches. Appraisal: Thomaston Place Auctions sold a similar grouping in March, 2018 for $625.00. MiddleManBrokers, Inc. sold a similar grouping in Dec. 2020 for $310.00. Saco River Auctions sold a comparable grouping in June, 2015 for $475.00.

Condition:

The first image is slightly faded, and the half case is badly scuffed. The second image is slightly discolored, but fairly clear, in an ornate gold matte. The third image is slightly faded, but still quite visible, in a nice case. The forth image is slightly faded, but still extremely sharp.
