Four (4) Early Sixth Plate Daguerreotypes of Men & Women

Four sixth plate daguerreotypes probably from the 1840s. All are in leather half cases. One shows a man in formal attire, holding a walking stick. The second is a smiling older woman resting her elbow on a large book. There is a tag on the glass identifying the image as being by P.H. Ewin of Schenectady. The third image is an elderly woman in a wooden chair. The fourth is an older woman with a table at her side holding two books. She has a ribbon in her hands. All four images are in half leather cases.

Dimensions: Sixth plate images, 3 5/8 tall by 3 1/8 inches wide

Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.

Condition:The first image appears to have been cleaned, and the bottom of the case is broken. The second and third images are about excellent. The fourth image has a number of scratches on the surface of the plate. All four half cases are worn, one with damage. Please see photos.
