Colt Navy Model 1851 Percussion Revolver in Old Sim Jim Holster.

A Colt Navy percussion revolver manufactured in 1857 with matching serial numbers other than the loading lever, in an old “Slim Jim” western style holster. The gun is missing the loading lever latch and has a crudely replaced wedge, consistent with Old West usage. The holster has an old label on the reverse that is only partially legible, with some history of the gun. The barrel has the New York address. The loading lever is numbered 3966. Size: 13 ½ inches long overall, with a 7 ½ inch long barrel. Shipping: $40.00.

Provenance:Lawrence Shelton Collection

Condition:

Condition: The gun is in slightly better than relic condition, with heavy pitting and rust overall. The loading lever latch is missing, and the wedge has been replaced with an unmarked piece of steel that holds the gun together tightly. The grips are missing a large chip on the left hand side at the base. The action is tight, strong, and perfectly timed. The holster is solid other than a piece missing at the barrel end, and has a belt loop secured with a brass rivet and stitching on the reverse.
