Colt 10 Gauge Hartford Outside Hammer Double Barrel Shotgun

A handsome Colt double barreled outside hammer shotgun in 10 gauge, with damascus barrels, and a doll's head on the breech, serial number 18714, manufactured in 1885. The lock plates have "Colt's Pt. F.A. Mfg. Co." on them, nd the rib between the barrels has the same with Hartford. Ct. U.S.A. There is an oval escutcheon plate on the bottom of the butt. Size: 46 inches long overall, with 29 3/8 inch barrels. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $65.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.

Condition:

The metal on the gun is very good, with some light surface rust and some patches of darker rust on the left hand side. The butt stock is fair, with wear and some minor marks. The forend has an area that appears to have been rotted just behind the forend release, and is worn and dented. The bores are very good, and the action is excellent.
