Antique Mixed Wood Box

Wooden box composed of different woods, with a watercolor still-life painting framed on the underside of the lid. The box has brass hinges, gilded brass ornamental feet, and a lock on its lid and on the drawer. The upper compartment is lined with faded rose colored velvet. The box appears to be made of three different woods. In the General's inventory it is described as being of mahogany and satinwood, but there is also ebonized wood around the small watercolor inside the lid. The key is not present. Size: 11 1/2 inches wide, 7 1/2 inches tall, 9 inches deep. Provenance: Estate of General Joseph McNarney. Processing and shipping in the Continental United States is $45.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition is excellent, although the velvet lining of the upper compartment is faded and slightly worn.
