Winchester Model 1886 Rifle w/ Cut-Down Barrel.

A Winchester Model 1886 Rifle in caliber .38-58 W.C.F., serial number 38089, manufactured in 1889. It has a straight stock and an octagonal barrel, but the barrel and magazine tube have been skillfully cot down at some point in its past. Size: 36 1/2 inches long overall, with an 18 inch barrel. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $65.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.

Condition:

Fair condition overall, with dirt nd old grease making the action very sluggish. The hammer does not hold on full cock. There is a small chip of wood missing from the wrist, and a larger chip missing from the underside of the stock at the butt. The barrel and magazine tube have been cut down to 18 inches. Despite the dirt and grease, there are traces of the original blue at the loading gate and in spots along the action.
