US WWII Flight Helmet and Overseas Cap W/ Airborne Troop Carrier Badge

US Army Air Force A-11 leather Flying Helmet with Polaroid Army Air Corps leather lined goggles, complete with its original ANB-H-1 ear receivers and plug, along with the same owner's khaki overseas cap with Army Air Corps officer's piping, and the enameled distinctive insignia of the Airborne Troop Carriers. These came from a family with the information that they belonged to a pilot named Chadbourne who flew drops over Normandy on D-Day, as well as towing gliders with Airborne Troops in WWII. These items came from the same family as did the GAR sword lot. Size: The flight helmet is size large, and measures 11 inches long. The overseas cap is 11 1/2 inches long. Processing and Shipping in the Continental United States is $40.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition:

Very good condition. The leather of the flight helmet is a little dry, but still quite good. The overseas cap has minor stains, but is generally excellent. The enamel on the distinctive insignia is very slightly chipped above the glider and parachute.
