Salt Glazed Stoneware Armstrong and Wentworth Jug
Very handsomely ovoid shaped stoneware jug marked Armstrong & Wentworth, Norwich towards the top. Armstrong & Wentworth of Norwich, Connecticut were in operation from 1814 to 1834. The jug has a number of American nickels glued to the inside bottom. There is no decoration other than areas of gray-blue paint at the bottom and top of the handle.
Size: 11 1/2 inches tall by 8 inches wide.
Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.
Condition:
The jug appears to be in very good plus condition. The nickels are all bright, and appear to be of recent date.
