Remington Rolling Black Model 1871

A very nice Remington Rolling Block Military Rifle in about .43 caliber, with patent dates on the breech tang for 1871 and 1872. There is a large "R" on the side of the barrel by the breech, and the letter "U" is stamped on the barrel bands, as on a US issued rifle, other wise there are no other visible markings. There is a bayonet mounting lug on the side of the barrel by the muzzle, and the rifle is full-stocked. The rifle has a steel ramrod. Size: The rifle is 50 1/2 inches long overall, and has a 30 inch barrel. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $65.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Condition:

The stampings on the breech tang appear to have been over-stamped, and are somewhat unclear. The finish is mottled, but very good. The wood has few slivers missing around the breech. The bore is very good with slightly worn rifling. The action is excellent.
