Plaster Chalkware Plaque of Greek Mythological Creatures & 6 Chalkware Wall Shelves
Large rectangular gilt painted chalkware plaque showing two mermaids flanking a Lion of St, Mark, along with 6 plaster ornamental wall units for holding small or decorative items. One pair of shelves has cherubs forming the bases. Four of the shelves are painted gold, while two are larger and are painted black and gold with wooden shelves at their tops.
Size: The plaque is rectangular, 11 tall by 38 inches and 1 1/4 inch thick. Two of the shelf units have cherubs on them and are 5 inches tall by 6 inches wide. Two others that are of baroque style re 7 inches tall and 11 inches wide. The last pair, which are black and gold are 10 inches tall and 12 inches wide.
Condition:
One of the mermaids on the plaque has a chip on her elbow that has been repainted. Other than that all the pieces are excellent.
