Pair of early 19th c framed portrait paintings of Dr. John Miller (1760-1842)and his wife, Elizabeth Smith (1760-1832). Dr. Miller was an early settler / physician in the Plattsburgh, NY area after the Revolutionary War as well as a prominent farmer there. In the portrait Dr. Miller is dressed in a period suit and is holding a book labeled "Dr. J Miller, Plattsburgh", in her portrait, Elizabeth Miller wears a black dress and white lace bonnet. Oil on canvas. Dimensions each: Frame: 40"h x 35-1/4"w; Sight: 36-1/2"h x 31-1/2"w. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S $250 plus a 1.5% replacement cost insurance fee.
