Pair of Chalkware "Ivorex" Plaques by Arthur Osborne with 19th Domestic Century Scenes

Two very fine plaster "chalk ware" plaques, by Arthur Osborne of Kent, in England in the early 1900s. They are of early 19th century domesti scenes. One shows two women seated with a cat at their feet by a kitchen fire with pots hanging over the flames. It is entitled "A Friendly Call. The other shows a couple seated in their parlor, the man smoking a clay pipe, woman drinking a cup of tea. There is a dog lying at their feet. It is entitled "The Old Folks at Home." They are both stamped "AO" for Arthur Osborne, who created these by hand. The reverses are stamped with the artist's name, Copyright, and Made in England.. Size: 6 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches.
