Pacific R.R. Survey. Vol V. Color Illustrations of California. Mammoth Sequoia

Description: Notes and illustrations on nearly every California region including Northern California regions of the Gold Country, Livermore, and multiple mountain passes. Numerous color plates throughout of California. Instructions from the war department typed letter on one of the early pages preceeding part one from Jefferson Davis, then secretary of war (see pictures ). Plates include a very early color illustration of a Giant California Sequoia.

Condition:The spine cover is separated and tucked into front inside cover. The color plates range from fair to very good. The Sequoia plate has minimal toning.
