Los Angeles County Supervisor's Badge

A County of Los Angeles enamel star shaped badge and black leather badge wallet of Frank G. Bonelli, LA County Supervisor, several time mayor of Huntington Beach, and California State Assemblyman for many years. Frank Bonelli (1906-1972) was a significant figure in Southern California politics and development for several decades. He was a County Supervisor in Los Angeles County from 1958-1972, including during the Watts Riots and the Vietnam War protests of the 1970s. He was a "mover and a shaker" in California politics in general. A large regional park near San Dimas is named after him, and the City of Huntington Beach named him their "Man of the Century," and their city hall houses a memorial to him. The badge is gold colored in the shape of a 5-pointed star, and has a circular enamel shield in its center, with "FRANK G. BONELLI SUPERVISOR, surrounding the coat of arms of the County of Los Angeles. It is in a black leather wallet (The badge is 1.5-inches across. The wallet is 5.75-inches long and 2.5-inches wide).
