Long Case Barometer ca. 1800 w/ Admiral Fitzroy's Comments

A very fine early barometer in a long wooden care, with parchment backing, including a sea depth chart and Admiral Fitzroy's comments and corrections. Circa 1870. Admiral Fitzroy was Captain of HMS Beagle on Darwin's famous voyage, and essentially invented the science of weather forecasting. Size: Length: 41 width 11 depth 2 inches.

Condition:

Excellent, with minor yellowing to the parchment backing.
