A boldly colored turn-of-the-century sheet metal store bin advertising Cherub Coffee and Cherub Tea by Lindley & Co., Sacramento. The front panel features two winged cherubs against a red and blue background, surrounded by floral detailing and gold lettering that reads:
“Lindley & Co’s Cherubs – Cherub Coffee – Cherub Tea”
Top panel is stenciled: “Lindley and Co., Sacramento”
Manufactured by the St. Louis Tin & Sheet Metal Working Co., this bin would have originally been used in a general store or grocer’s counter. It stands as a rare surviving example of regional California food advertising with local Sacramento provenance.
