John Lopes (American, 1918-1996) “Duke Ellington” Artist’s Plate and Proofs
A lot containing the artist’s plates and proofs of Duke Ellington’s portrait by John Lopes. This would go on to be used as a cover for the Sacramento Bee TV Magazine. It also includes a clipping from KOVR 13 that used larger imagery of the same portrait for an advertisement.
Dimensions: Artist’s Plates - 10.75H x 8W inches, Proofs - One is 12H x 8W inches, the second is 16.25H x 13.5W inches, and the others all 14H x 8.5W inches
Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $45.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.
Condition:Great. The plates have dried ink residue on it, but no other wear is visible. One of the proofs is mounted to a board and has wear on it from production processing. The second proof is laminated in good condition. The rest are stored in a sleeve. Please see photos.
