General Anthony McAuliffe West Point Photos

A grouping of very interesting photos of a young Anthony McAuliffe in uniform, from his days as a high school cadet to his time at West Point, and on into his early career, including a WWI period photo of McAuliffe as an Artillery 2nd Lieutenant. They include: a small (5 ½ by 7 ½ inches) gilt framed portrait of McAuliffe in WWI uniform; a snapshot of McAuliffe and a young lady on horseback with “1st Post” written on the back; a cabinet photo style portrait of McAuliffe in his West Point Cadet uniform; a photo of McAuliffe and other officers on horseback (5 x 7); a West Point colored postcard showing Cadets on parade written by McAuliffe to his future wife, then Helen Whitman, dated 1917 and signed “Tony”; a newspaper clipping from the 1940’s with two photos of McAuliffe; a photo of a young McAuliffe in uniform as a newly minted lieutenant with a group of more senior officers(5 x 7); and a photo of a group of Cadets and officers at a field presentation, with a newspaper clipping photo including McAuliffe on the back (7 x 8 ½). Condition: Very good and better. The framed portrait is excellent. The newspaper clippings are yellowed. The postcard with the McAuliffe autograph is extremely clear, but has been mailed and has rounded corners. One of the paper photos is missing a corner. Otherwise all very good.
