Four WWII Vintage U.S. Fighting Knives & Sheaths

Four interesting American fighting knives made or modified during or around WWII: U.S.N. marked fighting knife/ deck knife by Colonial Cutlery of Providence, Rhode Island, with a hard rubber grip, in a hand made leather sheath sewn with steel wire, and simply tooled, including the initials GEW. The knife has USN on one side of the ricasso and Colonial, Providence, R.I. on the other. The knife blade is short, single edged with a clipped point. Size: 9 7/8 inches long overall, with a 4 7/8 inch blade.. An interesting unmarked fighting knife with a very handsome hardwood grip, brass guard and pommel, and strongly curved hand made blade, in a hand made leather sheath. The grip has layers of aluminum and brass at the guard and at the pommel. The blade has an almost scimitar shape, with a clipped point. The sheath is very sturdy, with 9 brass rivets. Size: 11 3/4 inches long overall, with a 7 1/4 inch blade. A very interesting fighting knife made from metal that has an advertising for "Sell Bixby's Jet-Oil Shoe Polish" on the blade, and with a saw edged back of the blade. The grip is somewhat blocky wood, with two large brass screw-in rivets, and a simple elongated oval guard. The sheath is brown, nicely made with a large sewn welt on the front, and with the initials W.H. on the back. This is a great example of a WWII Theater knife made in the Service, possibly by a machinist at a base or on board a ship. Size: 11 1/4 inches long with a 6 5/8 inch blade. A similar but larger knife without the advertising on the blade, but with the same saw toothed back edge, elongated oval steel guard and blocky grip with brass rivets. This is in a hand made sheath that is probably of later make, dyed blue, with simple tooling' It has the initials J.C.A. in the wood. Size: 12 1/2 inches long overall, with a 7 3/4 inch blade. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $35.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.
