Fireplace Screen with Needlepoint Emboidered Square Shield
A very fine embroidered fireplace screen on a turned wooden stand. The embroidered screen has a design of a bouquet of roses and ferns and daisies. The screen is 21 inches tall by 17 3/4 inches, and has a buckram backing. The screen is early 19th century.
Size: On the stand the screen is 59 inches tall overall, with the framed embroidery being 21 by 17 3/4 inches.
Condition:
The screen portion is slightly blackened at top and bottom. Otherwise it is very good.
