European Feather Fan with Tortoise Shell & Silver Mongram in Gilt Frame
Magnificent iridescent colored feather fan on tortoise shell shafts with a black case with silver initials and silk tassels. The feathers are brilliantly irridescent in shades of blue, green, and turquoise over a field of downy feathers in shades of red and purple, with a band of bronze silk above the tortoise shell shafts of the fan, The case for the fan is black, possibly ebony, has a dark silver ring at the base with a silk tassel attached, and a silver monogram with the letters CH entwined.. The fan is in a very ornate gilt frame shaped to fit the open fan.
Size: the fan itself is 17 inches wide as opened, and 12 inches long. The frame is 18 inches high and 28 1/2 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches deep.
Condition:
Excellent overall condition, with one feather loose in the frame.
