Edwardian Oak Weighing Seat / Scale For Jockeys

Unusual weighing set, probably Edwardian, with adjustable scale on the side. The seat has brass mounts on the side, along with a very small drawer. There is no visible maker's name, but the main weight on the scale is marked "REG No 243881. Scales such as these were popular for weighing jockeys at horse races as well as at fairs and carnivals for a "Guess Your Weight" booth, but could also be used to weigh people who could not stand on their own. The scale is brass and iron, and is functional. The seat is sturdy. The cushion is upholstered black leather with an alligator pattern. Size: 26 inches tall by 25 inches wide by 16 1/2 inches deep.
