Chinese Bronze Statue of a Man Riding a Koi Fish

Large and very finely executed bronze statue of a well-dressed man holding high a fan, while riding a Koi fish. He may be Fuxi, the first man, and the koi represents good fortune, as well as prosperity. This is an extremely well-executed piece with some age to it. He has an open hole in his right hand as well, which may have held something originally, although most comparable representations only hold a fan. Size: 19 inches tall by 13 inches wide by 10 inches deep.
