An early 20th-century countertop oak cash register by the Cashier Cash Register Co. of Los Angeles, California. This substantial and well-crafted model features a decorative brass “CASHIER” marquee and a built-in turntable tray under a glass register window. The mechanism includes a paper roll receipt system, and a lower cash drawer (currently jammed) is fitted with an ornate cast metal pull. Maker’s plaque reads:
“Cashier Cash Register Co., Incorporated, Made in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. – Patents Pending”
This uncommon regional register showcases the elegance and functionality of early West Coast manufacturing, designed to rival the more industrial national brands.
