“Broken Arm, Sioux” Advertising Display for Perry Pictures Co., ca. Early 20th Century

Original advertising display for Indian Portraits in Colors from The Perry Pictures Company, featuring a printed chromolithograph of Broken Arm, a Sioux chief, based on the iconic photograph by Frank A. Rinehart, noted in the lower left as “Copyright Rinehart Omaha.”

These images were mass-produced and sold for educational and decorative use, and this example is printed on red mountboard with the original marketing text:

“Five Cents Each. FOR SALE HERE.”

Dimensions: Sight: 12 × 10 in. Framed: 16 × 14 in.

Pickup & Shipping: Free Sacramento pickup. Shipping via FedEx for $45 + 1.5% insurance (unless waived in writing).

Condition:Very good overall. Not examined out of frame. Rounded corners and two small punch holes at the top, typical of original point-of-sale displays. Color strong and surface well preserved.
